PRESSROOM

Operators - The Printing Machine Operator will produce printed objects and materials using assigned printing machinery.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operates various printing machines, including offset, letterset, and screen printers.
  • Determines quantities required for the print job.
  • Matches colors for a print job per job request.
  • Aligns and configures machinery.
  • Inspects random production samples to evaluate the quality of printings.
  • Maintains the inventory of supplies needed to operate printing machines.
  • Troubleshoots issues with the printing machine and makes basic repairs.
  • Performs routine maintenance on printing machines.
  • Maintains a clean area around printing machinery.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Roll Tenders - Roll Tenders load paper onto a web offset printing press. Ensures paper is properly loaded for the press to be ready for printing.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and hang rolls.
  • Wash blankets.
  • Change Blankets.
  • Assist roll tender trainees (joggers).
  • Assist pressmen.
  • Assist crew to bring press back in production when web break, folder jam, etc occurs.
  • Maintains a clean area around printing machinery.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Roll Tender Trainees (Joggers) - Entry-level printing production task; folder tending, and make-ready assistance necessary for the quality printing operation.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and hang rolls.
  • Wash blankets.
  • Change Blankets.
  • Assist roll tender trainees (joggers).
  • Assist pressmen.
  • Assist crew to bring press back in production when web break, folder jam, etc occurs.
  • Maintains a clean area around printing machinery.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

PLATE DEPARTMENT

Plate Maker - Make and prepare plates to be used on press for ads. Swing shift 2p-10.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Make and prepare plates.
  • Maintains a clean area around machinery.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Must have basic computer skills (open folders, drag & drop, copy & paste ect).
  • Knowing Kodak Preps & Workshop & Adobe Acrobat programs is a bonus, if not we will train.

MAINTENANCE

Mechanic - Performs preventative, general maintenance and repairs associated with automated printing presses, bindery, and packaging machinery equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses problems, adjust, troubleshoots, and provides the required maintenance to equipment promptly to ensure optimal performance and operational effectiveness
  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, setup, and install parts on machines to maximize quality and production
  • Works with operations manuals and manufacturer’s instructions to optimize equipment performance
  • Communicated effectively with various departments and outside vendors regarding issues, resolutions, and status updates about equipment problems.
  • Work with various types of electrical, pneumatic, and manual hand tools
  • Replaces, inspects, and adjusts settings on our industrial equipment
  • Works with other team members to complete orders accurately and efficiently, supporting operational excellence.

While performing the job duties, the incumbent in constantly required to stand; walk. Must frequently use hand to finger, handle, grasp, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; use close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds; crawl; crouch; stop; twist.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires work in a production environment. The production environment has a loud noise level and requires PPE (hearing protection); ambient temperatures are warmer in the summer and colder in the winter, and maybe exposure to vapor, chemicals, dust, and odors. Other PPE may be required related to specific tasks.
